The Installation Process

The first step is preparing your garage floor. Guardian Garage Floors’ skilled technicians show up to your home with professional equipment, including diamond grinders and industrial-grade vacuums for optimum dust control. To prepare your garage floor, Guardian Garage Floors technicians grind down the entire surface of your floor to create a smooth, even surface. Once the floor is ground to an even surface, technicians look for any cracks or divots. Any imperfections are filled with quick-setting polyurea.

The second step is applying a base layer of tinted Polyaspartic Polyurea to the garage floor. The Polyaspartic Polyurea soaks into the floor for a perfect bond, unlike paint or epoxy that just sits on top. Polyaspartic Polyurea is low-odor and environmentally friendly. It also works at any temperature. Unlike epoxy, our Polyaspartic Polyurea can be applied whether it’s freezing cold or swelteringly hot.

The third step is laying down aggregate color chips. The chips add texture and beauty to the floors. After the chips are applied, the floor is scraped smooth again to create an even, non-slip surface.

The fourth and final step is to apply a layer of high-solids Polyaspartic to seal the floor. Guardian Garage Floors uses a proprietary blend of Polyaspartic that is much stronger than epoxy.
