Three for Thursday 01.26.2023
Welcome to TrustDALE's Three For Thursday with Consumer Investigator Dale Cardwell.
I love random acts of kindness, especially when they're done expecting nothing in return. I was recently at my neighborhood Kroger grocery store at 11pm, picking up juice and milk for my grandkids. While checking out, I realized I didn't have my wallet. Ughh! Tyesha, who was working the automated checkout lane asked me what was wrong. I told her, and she asked, "do you have Zelle on your phone?" "Yes," I answered. She immediately said, "Ill pay your bill and you can pay me back when you get a chance." What?!! This person I'd never met before, who had no idea who I am didn't hesitate to help me out of an inconvenient jam. I called her manager the next day and told him how impressed I was with her kindness and selflessness. And now, Tyesha is going to get a gift card she didn't request or expect from TrustDALE!

Todays Lesson on how to be a Savvy Consumer!
Today's seven-point lesson is on recognizing the difference between a gift and getting set up.
Fast - Do they want your money NOW? It's not a gift if they want cash up front.
Funds - Is the investment required relevant to the promised payoff? Getting more than you deserve without strings is exceedingly rare. Look for the strings!
Found - A person who intends to rip you off will make certain he can't be found after he gets your money. If it's free, you don't have to worry about finding them. If it's not, you do.
Define - Your deal by comparing product, Offer and Price. If the offer is unsolicited and comes with a fee, be sure to compare before accepting or signing.
Ensure - Your deal with an Ethical negotiation, an Equitable contract, and an Effective Guarantee. True gifts normally don't come with contracts. If there is one, that "free" gift probably isn't free.
Authenticate - Your deal by requesting References, checking reviews, and examining government and watchdog reports. Marketing offers disguised as gifts are usually exposed through reviews.
Legitimize - your deal by determining if the company has a business license, liability insurance and is Lawsuit and background checked. Gifts that are too good to be true are often offered by people to crooked too follow these rules.
