Three for Thursday 03.03.2022
Welcome to TrustDALE's Three For Thursday with Consumer Investigator Dale Cardwell.
I wanted to write about plastic today, and I guess I will, since the plate I ate from yesterday may very well outlast all of us. We have created indestructible products to deliver extremely perishable materials, and from my reading, recycling plastic doesn't work. I'll write more on this later, but I'm really worried about Ukraine. Yes, this is a consumer blog, but Ukraine feels like covid felt in February and early March of 2020. It's way over there, but it's quickly coming here. For centuries, oceans have provided America an incredible natural defense. Today, I don't think we have any option than prepare for a defense against an autocrat who doesn't seem to be mentally balanced. I was encouraged Tuesday night to see Americans applauding Americans. I will join other Americans in praying for Ukrainians and unfairly coerced Russians.

Todays Lesson on how to be a Savvy Consumer!
Today's seven-point lesson is choosing between following a process and blowing up social media.
Fast - Do they want your money NOW? People intending to rip you off have no process and no fear of social media, so be careful when determining if payment up front is reasonable.
Funds - Is the investment required relevant to the promised payoff? If you haven't paid much, you don't have much leverage. If you wine on social media about an unreasonable issue, no one will care.
Found - A person who intends to rip you off will make certain he can't be found after he gets your money. See "fast" above.
Define - Your deal by comparing product, Offer and Price. Knowing what you want before you purchase should also include understanding procedures in the event something goes wrong.
Ensure - Your deal with an Ethical negotiation, an Equitable contract, and an Effective Guarantee. This is the most important step in determining if you have a reasonable efficient process or if you need to go social.
Authenticate - Your deal by requesting References, checking reviews, and examining government and watchdog reports. Again, an excellent resource to determine up front if a company has a proven process.
Legitimize - your deal by determining if the company has a business license, liability insurance and is Lawsuit and background checked. Companies that follow these rules are more likely to have a process.
