Three for Thursday 09.09.2021

Welcome to TrustDALE's Three For Thursday with Consumer Investigator Dale Cardwell.

Staying the same is safe, until it isn't. I'll admit it, I'm a slow adapter. Proof? I recall squinting my eyes, searching the Yellow Pages in 2005 and suddenly realizing I should be using my computer for the search. Former film giant Kodak filed for bankruptcy in 2012 because it ignored the emergence of digital photography. TrustDALE is a better mouse trap. We eliminate the companies you don't need to research and protect yourself from and provide you with companies that meet our seven-point investigative standard and honor my Make It Right guarantee. If you're reading this, I'm likely preaching to the choir. Chances are your neighbor is still "winging it" when it comes time to purchase a new roof. If you care about your neighbor, church member, colleague at work, please tell them about TrustDALE. I will, and chances are they will really appreciate it!

Ask Dale

Today's Ask Dale question comes Mary, who's been seeing famous people pitching Title Lock protection. She wants to know if she should purchase it. Here's my advice...

Todays Lesson on how to be a Savvy Consumer!

Today's seven-point lesson is on how to see through a pitch for a product or service, pretending to be something it's not.

Fast - Do they want your money NOW? Organizations posing as charities will mail, email, or call you at home, asking for an immediate payment. Don't do it!

Funds - Is the investment required relevant to the promised payoff?Knock-offs posing as someone or something else will often quote a price that's far below market rate.

Found - A person who intends to rip you off will make certain he can't be found after he gets your money. Even shady but legally operating companies will make it hard for you to find them, simply because they don't want to deal with you after your purchase.

Define - Your deal by comparing Product, Offer and Price. Determining a fair market price by comparison shopping will go a long way toward helping you eliminate posers.

Ensure - Your deal with an Ethical negotiation, an Equitable contract, and an Effective Guarantee. This is your most important step in exposing and avoiding getting fooled.

Authenticate - Your deal by requesting References, checking reviews, and examining government and watchdog reports. Posers can fake reviews. Ask for 20 references, and then call three of your choosing. If it's a charity check them out on CharityNavigator.org
