Three for Thursday 10.28.2021
Welcome to TrustDALE's Three For Thursday with Consumer Investigator Dale Cardwell.
When's it going to flip? That's the question I ask myself every time I fill out a form in order to get something I want. Consumer resource platforms, like Angi.com are actually data-mining businesses that demand and then sell your personal information to entities that want to sell you even more stuff. For years, their defense has been "we don't want to know who you are, we only want to know how you behave." My friend and colleague Joe has created an alias complete with email address and dob to create a firewall between him and Big Brother. My thought is, "who you are" is going to become so valuable to these data mining platforms that being tracked 24/7 is going to become inevitable. TrustDALE doesn't and never will require your personal information. If you voluntarily want to join our community, please do!

Todays Lesson on how to be a Savvy Consumer!
Today's seven-point lesson is on determining if you need a third-party evaluation.
Fast - Do they want your money NOW? It's usually a terrible idea to pay up front for a product or service you don't understand.
Funds - Is the investment required relevant to the promised payoff? Offers that sound too good to be true usually need a third-party evaluation to determine their validity.
Found - A person who intends to rip you off will make certain he can't be found after he gets your money. Third party evaluations usually force you to slow down and that's good.
Define - Your deal by comparing Product, Offer and Price. Getting three estimates usually go hand in hand with third-party evaluations.
Ensure - Your deal with an Ethical negotiation, an Equitable contract, and an Effective Guarantee. Fair agreements should not prevent third-party evaluations, such as an independent mechanic evaluating a used car before you buy it.
Authenticate - Your deal by requesting References, checking reviews, and examining government and watchdog reports. This is another form of a third-party evaluation.
Legitimize - your deal by determining if the company has a business license, liability insurance and is Lawsuit and background checked. TrustDALE is your third-party resource for this step!
