Today's lesson on how to be a savvy consumer
Brandie Park thought she'd found a mechanic she could trust, until she found out she couldn't here's where Brandie went wrong:
Fast - Do they want your money NOW?
Funds - Is the amount of investment far smaller than the promised pay-off? That's a formula for too good to be true!
Found - A person who intends to rip you off will make certain he can't be found after he gets your money.
Define - Your deal by comparing Products, Offers and Prices.
Ensure - Your deal with an Ethical negotiation, an Equitable contract and an Effective Guarantee. Brandie had an effective guarantee, but she lost it when she failed to retain her paperwork from the transaction. Lesson: You can't rely on the vendor to maintain your records. In this case, it appears the new owner wanted to distance itself from the former company's obligations. If Brandie would have saved her contract, she would have had a better chance of getting her needs met. This is, in my opinion, a bad start for the new owner, but a path they have chosen with the former company's clients.
Authenticate - Your deal by requesting References, checking Reviews, and examining government and watchdog reports.
Legitimize - Your deal by determining if the company has a business license, liability insurance and is Lawsuit and background checked.
