Today’s question is from David. He tells us I saw a kiosk at the mall where you could sign up for a chance to win a free vacation to the Bahamas.  this sounds too good to be true. What’s the catch?

Everyone who signs up for these things always wins. The catch is that the free vacation is not free.

It even says so on the entry slip. You still have to pay for transportation, taxes, resort fees, and who knows what else.  according to one online review, one person who claimed the supposedly free vacation paid more-than one-thousand dollars in fees and other expenses.  The company offering the vacation may also try to upsell you on other things.

If you really want a vacation to the Bahamas, book it yourself, or through a reputable travel agency.
