Three for Thursday 01.21.2021
Welcome to TrustDALE's Three For Thursday with Consumer Investigator Dale Cardwell.
I would like to recognize someone who has played a significant role in my life, TrustDALE and what measure of success we've experienced. Her name is Angie Cardwell and on January 18th we marked 35 years of marriage. Angie is a hometown girl at heart, imagine the strain of marrying a television reporter who told her from the beginning he would have to "move around to move up." 19 moves later, she somehow stayed with me. She also gave me two beautiful, respectful and talented children Adam and Jessica. When I think of commitment, and people doing what they said they'd do (which is the heart of TrustDALE), I think of my beautiful intelligent and wise wife Angie. Thank you for letting me brag on her, and Angie - here's to 35 more!

Todays Lesson on how to be a Savvy Consumer!
Today's seven-point lesson is about working out a problem before it blows up. See which of my seven steps apply to this story.
Pool fail: Derrick and Linda hired a fast-talker to install their inground pool. Six months later, he's walked off the job with half of their money.
Fast - Do they want your money NOW?
Funds - - Is the investment required relevant to the promised payoff? If not, it's likely too good to be true.
Found - A person who intends to rip you off will make certain he can't be found after he gets your money.
Define - Your deal by comparing Product, Offer and Price.
Ensure - Your deal with an Ethical negotiation, an Equitable contract and an Effective Guarantee. It is so important understand your agreement. Most are written in ways that protect the company in situations - they know - can be problematic and you don't. This is why I recommend having an independent industry expert review your agreement before you sign.
Authenticate - Your deal by requesting References, checking Reviews, and examining government and watchdog reports. It is really easy to let down your guard and hire a smooth talker before you authenticate his credentials. Is he or she a hot-head? Are they always right? These warning signs will come out in reviews.
Legitimize - your deal by determining if the company has a business license, liability insurance and is Lawsuit and background checked.
