Three for Thursday 04.21.2022
Welcome to TrustDALE's Three For Thursday with Consumer Investigator Dale Cardwell.
Do you have head knowledge or heart knowledge? I was reminded of this question during worship services last weekend. I was impressed with the congregation that surrounded me and how we pronounced our belief in God. It was at that moment I wondered how many would leave that setting and return to a behavior pattern where we engage in anger, resentment, jealously, suspicion and judgement. If we honestly believe in a creator, and we follow the common tenants that we are to love God and love one another, then that is knowledge we take to heart. It is also the starting point for every action in our lives. My prayer is that TrustDALE represents the best in all of us, and that our community of contractors and service providers do just that; provide a valuable and dependable service with a servant's heart.

Today's Ask Dale question comes from Lauren, who wants to know if they can forgo a home inspection to speed the buying process.
Todays Lesson on how to be a Savvy Consumer!
Today's seven-point lesson is weighing whether to hire a company because it claims to be "faith-based." (PS... there's no substitute for following TrustDALE's seven-step process)
Fast - Do they want your money NOW? Premising your trust on another person's professed beliefs does not allow for full payment upfront with no protection.
Funds - Is the investment required relevant to the promised payoff? Sad to say, church settings have long been misused as settings for too good to be true opportunities
Found - A person who intends to rip you off will make certain he can't be found after he gets your money. Generally speaking, you can find a church member - at church, but that doesn't guarantee a successful outcome.
Define - Your deal by comparing product, Offer and Price. Trusting a so-called faith-based vendor without verification of product, offer price is a dangerous path.
Ensure - Your deal with an Ethical negotiation, an Equitable contract, and an Effective Guarantee. I've seen too many church members forgo a contract with just a handshake - big mistake.
Authenticate - Your deal by requesting References, checking reviews, and examining government and watchdog reports. Again, the seven-step process requires references, reviews, and reports.
Legitimize - your deal by determining if the company has a business license, liability insurance and is Lawsuit and background checked. Failure to meet these criteria is a sign you shouldn't do business with this person or company.
