Three for Thursday 04.28.2022

Welcome to TrustDALE's Three For Thursday with Consumer Investigator Dale Cardwell.

I think it's time we got to know one another better. What am I talking about? More than a quarter of a million of you visit TrustDALE.com every year. Thank you! Twenty thousand of you follow our content on Facebook. And if you're reading this, you're one of more than five-thousand people who receive my weekly newsletter. Now here is where it gets interesting. Thirty-two percent of you click on the letter and read it! That's a whopping open rate, almost twice the norm. Wired magazine co-founder Kevin Kelly famously wrote that it only takes one-thousand true fans to be effective. Thanks to you, I have at least seventeen hundred - I prefer to call "friends." If you care enough to read this note every week, I would love to hear your thoughts on growing our community and becoming even more effective. Todays Lesson on how to be a Savvy Consumer!

Today's seven-point lesson is deciding to click on and respond to an unsolicited email or text.

Fast - Do they want your money NOW? Getting contacted by a party you don't recognize is usually a solicitation. I rarely click on or respond.

Funds - Is the investment required relevant to the promised payoff? The unsolicited contact will most likely suggest you'll get something for nearly nothing.

Found - A person who intends to rip you off will make certain he can't be found after he gets your money. Many of these solicitations are coming from overseas.

Define - Your deal by comparing product, Offer and Price. If you choose to take the bait and read the information, ALWAYS compare the product with competing vendors.

Ensure - Your deal with an Ethical negotiation, an Equitable contract, and an Effective Guarantee. You will get a feel for the validity of the offer sooner than later.

Authenticate - Your deal by requesting References, checking reviews, and examining government and watchdog reports. A legitimate business will follow through by offering references.

Legitimize - your deal by determining if the company has a business license, liability insurance and is Lawsuit and background checked. An unsolicited offer or contact, if opened should meet these standards.
