Three for Thursday 07.22.2021
Welcome to TrustDALE's Three For Thursday with Consumer Investigator Dale Cardwell.
I've been encouraged many times to post a record of people or businesses that intentionally seek to harm people. I'm tempted, but thankfully those people and companies are still the exception, not the rule. The closest measure we have to being forewarned is probably the BBB. With it's A through F rankings, it provides a pretty good guide as to who "not" to business with. Even so, people still fail to check out a company on the BBB, which is a mistake. TrustDALE continues to show you companies you can trust, and put their signatures where their intent is, honoring my $10,000 Make It Right Guarantee. Too many people who seek my help after getting burned failed to check the BBB or TrustDALE. Why? It's my guess it's still too tempting to believe someone who offers you something for nothing, or you simply take the advice of a single individual without doing the research that can save you money and heartache. It usually takes only once to learn that lesson.

Todays Lesson on how to be a Savvy Consumer!
Today's seven-point lesson is on giving the seller the benefit of the doubt.
Fast - Do they want your money NOW? Never pay an amount of money in advance that you're not willing to lose. Once your money is gone, it's very difficult to recover.
Funds - Is the investment required relevant to the promised payoff? It's really tempting to give someone the benefit of the doubt when it looks like you're getting a great deal. Chances are, there's something you don't know that will even if not reverse the scales!
Found - A person who intends to rip you off will make certain he can't be found after he gets your money. NEVER give the other party the benefit of the doubt if you don't know for certain how to locate them.
Define - Your deal by comparing Product, Offer and Price. Someone "telling" you it's a great product or a great deal without your due diligence is a recipe for disappointment.
Ensure - Your deal with an Ethical negotiation, an Equitable contract, and an Effective Guarantee. I've given someone the benefit of the doubt far too many times when I should have gotten an equitable contract and effective guarantee.
Authenticate - Your deal by requesting References, checking reviews, and examining government and watchdog reports. Taking their "word" for it is never an effective substitute.
