Three for Thursday 08.05.2021
Welcome to TrustDALE's Three For Thursday with Consumer Investigator Dale Cardwell.
I must admit, I don't get it. According to the CDC, seatbelt use increased from 11% in 1981 to 85% by 2010, indisputably saving hundreds of thousands of lives. Yet 1 in 7 people still don't buckle up. Then there's the story of Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis. He's credited with discovering in 1846 that handwashing before delivering a baby greatly reduced child mortality rates. Tragically, it would take decades before his fellow doctors valued his discovery and followed suit. Today, science have proven getting the covid vaccine will not only prevent serious infection but save your life. I don't get the people who don't get that. I'm a fan of you don't fix what's not broken, but I believe we have enough evidence to believe we can be broken. Get the vaccine, please.

Todays Lesson on how to be a Savvy Consumer!
Today's seven-point lesson is on determining if you have a case in small claims court.
Fast - Do they want your money NOW? If you pay cash and don't have a contract, bill of sale or receipt, you won't be able to prove your loss in small claims.
Funds - Is the investment required relevant to the promised payoff? The court (who might not be a real judge) will likely have little empathy if you were taken in by an unbelievable proposition.
Found - A person who intends to rip you off will make certain he can't be found after he gets your money. If you can't locate the con artist and you don't have a real name, you don't have a case.
Define - Your deal by comparing Product, Offer and Price. Failing to do your homework by comparison shopping probably won't be a factor if you can prove someone violated your agreement or didn't deliver what was promised in writing.
Ensure - Your deal with an Ethical negotiation, an Equitable contract, and an Effective Guarantee. "Ensuring" your deal will give you the evidence you need to prove your case and win.
Authenticate - Your deal by requesting References, checking reviews, and examining government and watchdog reports. This should have kept you "out" of small claims court.
