Three for Thursday 09.02.2021
Welcome to TrustDALE's Three For Thursday with Consumer Investigator Dale Cardwell.
When I was growing up, my culture was formed primarily by family and church. Regardless of your religion, most belief systems teach us to treat one another fairly and some actually tell us to "do good to those who hate you." If you follow this blog, you know I'm a big fan of marketing guru Seth Godin. He wrote this week that "the business model of social networks has replaced the simple act of being in community." I chase con men for a living, but I don't seek more for their victims than accountability and reparations. Our national media outlets, and more so social media outlets are driven by faceless bureaucrats who are chasing ratings that turn in to profit, but it doesn't profit our collective culture. In fact, it's ripping us apart. I'm greatly worried for our American community. I sincerely thank you for belonging to and being part of the TrustDALE community!

Todays Lesson on how to be a Savvy Consumer!
Today's seven-point lesson are my thoughts on turning the other cheek, (or giving the benefit of the doubt).
Fast - Do they want your money NOW? I never give large sums of money up front to strangers.
Funds - Is the investment required relevant to the promised payoff? The greed you feel when someone is offering a deal too good to be true - usually morphs into regret when you realize you didn't get what you paid for. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Found - A person who intends to rip you off will make certain he can't be found after he gets your money. People who intend to not be found are usually also intending to cheat you.
Define - Your deal by comparing Product, Offer and Price. If you take someone's word for a product's performance without comparing, and it doesn't perform, that's on you.
Ensure - Your deal with an Ethical negotiation, an Equitable contract, and an Effective Guarantee. Things go wrong. Strongly consider the intent of the seller along with what's written on paper. A good person wants to make it right.
Authenticate - Your deal by requesting References, checking reviews, and examining government and watchdog reports. You'll never have to turn your cheek for a person who couldn't rip you off because you authenticated them first.
Legitimize - your deal by determining if the company has a business license, liability insurance and is Lawsuit and background checked. Same as above!
