Welcome to TrustDALE's Three For Thursday with Consumer Investigator Dale Cardwell.
Hi everyone! I did something today I've done pretty much every single opportunity I've had since 1981. I voted. This time however, I felt a much deeper sense of not only responsibility but privilege. I felt grateful for my Dad, Grandfather and countless ancestors who fought to secure my opportunity to vote. I also sensed the people around me felt the same way. What a great occasion to reset the perspective on perhaps our most precious liberty! If you don't vote, you don't have the right to criticize the choices of the people who do. Please vote!

Consumer Investigation = My Eye Lab: When you make an appointment to see a doctor, you expect to see a doctor. But what if you find out your diagnosis is being handled virtually off site? Watch, because This Could Happen to You!
Ask Dale
Today's Real Consumer Question is from Darby, who asks:"Dale, can you recommend a good rent to own company?"
Todays Lesson on how to be a Savvy Consumer!
Today's seven-point lesson comes from today's Consumer investigation and pertains to considering an unconventional health supplement and/or treatment options. Note: I am NOT a doctor, and this is not medical advice - just common sense gleaned from years of observation.
Fast - Do they want your money NOW? Most online remedies require payment prior to shipping. Know for certain you're willing to lose your money if the product never arrives or doesn't do what it claims.
Funds - - Is the investment required relevant to the promised payoff? If not, it's likely too good to be true. There are trade-offs in nearly every economic relationship. For example, you can get less expensive medical or dental procedures performed in Central America. Perhaps the trade-off is the level of emergency care you can receive in the event of something going wrong. Cheap, fast and good almost never exist in the same transaction.
Found - A person who intends to rip you off will make certain he can't be found after he gets your money. People selling miracle potions or cures are pretty good at disappearing.
Ensure - Your deal with an Ethical negotiation, an Equitable contract and an Effective Guarantee.Widely known and accepted remedies follow widely known and generally accepted patterns. It's smart to know what your insurance covers in advance of making decisions, and second opinions are almost always a good safeguard.
Authenticate - Your deal by requesting References, checking Reviews, and examining government and watchdog reports. You deserve to know your health care professional's track record. You can start by visiting the Federation of State Medical Boards website. When it comes to online products, check reviews before you purchase.
Legitimize your deal by determining if the company has a business license, liability insurance and is Lawsuit and background checked. My social media feed seems to be full of hair growth products (go figure)!? I would never "bite," but if you're curious, it will pay you to check the legitimacy of the source by determining its state of license.
